Nightlife

Bars

Usually the bars in and around "foreign" districts offer options closest to what you'd expect at home; music, cold draught beer and a warm, welcoming bartender. Outside of the "foreign" districts, the bars tend to be more like restaurants with the obligatory appetizers.

Traditional Alcohol Houses

Also called joo-mahk, these wonders are decorated to resemble the Korean fashion of yore, with rough wood tables, hanging dried corn and booths decked out in ancient Korean Hangeul wallpaper. When you accept an ESL job in South Korea you can visit one of these traditional alcohol houses where you will be able to experience beer or traditional Korean alcohol.

Dance Clubs and Nightclubs

Clubs have been springing up all around the country, mostly in the big cities. Clubs in Korea are much like westernized dance clubs with several well dressed people dancing to the music of a DJ or live artist.
